It makes sense that as one is always changing and growing as a person that their preferences would change frequently, too. And so, what a wonderful thought that as my idea of the perfect man evolves as constantly as I do that I continue to re-realized that I am already with him.

Also today as I was wrapping carnations and attaching messages for students in my school a kid from my oceanography class asked if I had a valentine. I told him yes, my boyfriend. He said “Good for you, you’re lucky to not be alone.” (First of all all this melancholy about valentines day is so played out. It’s a silly holiday! If you’re celebrating it have fun if not just treat it like a normal day or better yet buy yourself some truffles and make a sick valentine. That’s what I’d do!)

Anyway back to the gushy stuff— being in love is not wonderful because it means not being alone. It is wonderful because I can be alone 90% of the time and never feel lonely. It’s like someone woke me up and injected me with the ability to be totally present in everything in my life. Being in love with one person taught me how to love everyone and every aspect in my life.
